Ohio -- Team Sandusky, Ohio
Competing Skipper 2001 -- Len Chamberlain/Steve Gregory

Len Chamberlain, sailing his Tartan 10 Wildcat, was the overall winner of the Sandusky, Ohio, regatta which was held for the first time on July 29, 2000. On board were Steve Gregory, Jim Sampson, Hank Chamberlain and Todd Hadawa.

Len will not be able to attend the 2001 championship as he will be out of the country during the regatta. Steve Gregory is putting a team together to represent the region.

Steve has been a long time partner and sailing companion of Len's. He has participated in Numerous sailing events from MORC Internationals, SORC, Ensenada Races, Detroit NOODs, and Mackinaw races to name just a few.

Joining Steve will be Jim Sampson, part of the winning crew when Len qualified. Jim has a long list of sailing accomplishments with his J/35 BULLET, including Lake Erie Boat of the Year 1995-1998, winning 5 Detroit NOODs and 3 Chicago NOODs, as well as finishing in the top five for the J/35 North Americans, Prince of Wales Cup, and the Lloyd Phoenix Regatta.

Fred Babson, former owner of the J/105 Fluididty will also be on the team. Fred is the 1997 J/105 North American champion and has sailed with Len onboard Wildcat on several occasions.

Bill Semans will be joining the crew, Bill sails mostly on Jim Sampson's J-35 Bullet and his Interlake Fatal Extraction. But he also spends time on his J-24 School of Mojo and several Tartan Tens including Wildcat with Steve and Len, Liquor Box with Bill Buckles, Gotcha with the Disbrow clan and others. He has also won several Chicago and Port Huron Mackinac races with Chuck Cable on his Express-35 Time.

Rounding out the crew is Gretchen Loper. Gretchen sails with her sister Heidi Backus Riddle. Together they have been among the top finishers in the Rolex International Women's Keel Boat Championships, won the Adams cup twice, won the Detroit NOOD in Tartan 10, and the Chicago NOOD in J/24.

The entire group has sailed together, as well as against each other, for much longer then they would care to admit!
