Ron Medlin Jr. is the winner of PHRF "B" and overall winner
of the 2003 Pamlico Cup Hospice Regatta. He will represent the Pamlico
River area in the 2004 National Hospice Regatta. Ron and his team
sailed to victory on "Bash", which
he owns and skippers.

Ron was born in Durham, NC and currently resides in New Bern, NC where
he works as an attorney. His team sails "Bash",
a J24. His wife, Melissa, works the foredeck. Other regular crewmembers
are: Rebecca Mouberry, Brian Lee, Jay Saunders, and Karen Scott.
"We have been racing for about 5 years and have developed
a team that really works well together. Teamwork is the most important
part of our boat's success. The sailboat racers on the Pamlico introduced
us to racing and nurtured us as we climbed the learning curve. We
are proud to have the opportunity to represent them."
The stiff competition of one-design racing has been a huge part of
our success. We are excited about racing in identical J105s.
"We are looking forward to racing in the Hospice regatta. My
grandmother, Ruth, died last winter after a long illness. Hospice
was with her to the end as a source of comfort to my grandmother and
family. It means a lot to us to participate in a regatta, that gives
something back to such a wonderful cause."
