On April 16 the 5th annual National Hospice Regatta Championship took place at Annapolis, Maryland. The original and so far only national sailing championship for charity, the event hosted winning skippers and teams from the 13 hospice regattas held in 2004 throughout the U.S.

Racing was held on the Chesapeake Bay, off Annapolis, Maryland. Race headquarters was located at Mears Marina, in historic Eastport just minutes from downtown Annapolis
