Dear team skippers and others--

Here is some information about lodging and transportation for the
championship April 12-14.

(Yankee Point, please note I have no email address for Lee Williams, so
will mail this notice to him. Hampton Roads, since you are picking an
alternate, I will correspond with that person when you provide the
information.)

Please pass this on to anyone not listed who may be coming for the
racing, spectating or attending the business meeting.

As stated in letters to skippers, each team is to make its own travel and
lodging arrangements, but is entitled to an allotment from the Alliance to
help with the costs. That amount is based on the average we reimbursed
each team for lodging at last year's championship. The amount and
instructions on obtaining it will be covered in a separate message.

We may have information later on other possibilities, including other
B&Bs. Most lodging will require you to have wheels, but some are closer
to the action than others. Most activities will take place in or near the
EASTPORT area of Annapolis, which is across little Spa Creek from downtown
Annapolis. If there is any more distant location, we will coordinate
transportation.

Very limited availablilty but good pricing. You may phone directly, no
group name but rates arranged by Linda with Amy in Sales Department. You
can call 800/426-7866 but no certainty that you'll get these

Location - 3 locations downtown, 4-5+ blocks to Eastport area.
Contact Linda Ambrose so she can group our people for best rates.

Single rates $169 for Thursday night; $189 for Fri/Sat night
Doubles add $10

MARRIOTT WATERFRONT HOTEL
Location - downtown across creek from Eastport, but no special rates.

No special rates - $199 Thursday night for non-waterfront view;
$269 for the weekends.

LOEWS ANNAPOLIS HOTEL
Location - West Street outside of downtown - car required.

No special rates; higher than Marriott Waterfront
2. AIR/RAIL TRANSPORTATION

Most of you may already know that Annapolis is about 40 miles East of
Washington DC. Shuttles, cabs and rental cars are options for getting to
Annapolis from airports and train stations.

AIRPORTS - Baltimore/Washington International Airport (aka BWI) is the
closest to Annapolis, but the other two area airports are not out of the
question, especially if you get a car. Reagan National Airport is very
near DC, in Virginia; Dulles International Airport is about 30 miles West
of DC, but may be more economical for some tickets.

TRAINS - Amtrak serves DC efficiently from the Northeast corridor, not so
well from other locations. There is a "BWI Airport" station that would be
convenient for driving to Annapolis, or you could go into DC to Union
Station.

3. GROUND TRANSPORTATION -

--> From BWI Airport and BWI Airport Amtrak Station - taxi to downtown
Annapolis is approximately $40.

--> From BWI Airport - Super Shuttle service is $35, to the Marriott
Waterfront in downtown Annapolis. Although this shuttle will pick up from
any location to go to the airports, they can only drop at this hotel.

--> From BWI Airport - "Private Car" and Boston Coach are sedan/limo
services which give personalized service to any location in the
Baltimore/Washington area.

Boston Coach - call 1-800/672-7676 for prices, reservations
