Hospice regattas are day-long or multi-day sailboat racing events held to raise money for local nonprofit hospices. Hundreds of sailors, organizers, sponsors, and supporters around the country raise more than $1 million each year while enjoying the competition and unique camaraderie of these events.
Whether you are a sailor, or someone who has been touched by hospice, or you just want to get involved, there are
plenty of opportunities.
“We [won the Championship] much the same way hospice cares for families in difficult times.”
“My husband Steve was able to die with dignity and was in control of his destiny…Many people don’t have the gift that I was given.”
“When we organized the Tampa Bay Hospice Cup, we thought to emphasize the idea of sailing for fun and for hospice.”
“The amount of money that’s generated in these events is really why we do this.”
“The whole vibe is cool because of the camaraderie on the water and on shore.”
