June 1, 2012 – Muskegon, Mich. – Families throughout the western Michigan lakeshore community areinvited to attend the annual Harbor Hospice-Chronicle Regatta. Not only will on-lookers be able to enjoy abeautiful view of sailboats on the lake, but there will be additional activities, including a family-oriented picnicand silent auction. The event, which first began in 2008, will take place on Saturday, July 7, at the Muskegon Yacht Club.
“The Harbor Hospice-Chronicle Regatta is a wonderful, fun-filled event for families to enjoy,” said Ammy Johnson, Harbor Hospice Director of Development. “The event not only benefits Harbor Hospice, but also the entire community ensuring they have access to expert care and support for patients facing a life-limiting illness and their families.”
The race will begin at 1 p.m. with a picnic dinner beginning at 3:30 p.m. The picnic will take place at the Muskegon Yacht Club and will feature barbecue chicken, ribs, hot dogs, tater tots, cole slaw, fruit and cookies. Tickets are $15 each and can be purchased online at HarborHospiceMI.org or the day of the event.
In addition to the picnic, there will be a silent auction taking place where attendees can have the opportunity to bid on items, such as a one-night stay at a bed and breakfast, dinner cruise, art and home accessories, and sporting and cultural events.
“Harbor Hospice is very appreciative of all the businesses and individuals who have helped sponsor this year’s event. Support at events such as the regatta enables Harbor Hospice to provide services for end-of-life care and support to everyone, regardless of ability to pay,” continued Johnson.
